Colour revolution is dangerous for Transniestria!

English // 13:45, 2 февраля 2009 // 2842
Interview with the leader of IYC-PDP "PRORIV!" Dmitry Soin.
Q: Mr. Soin a number of foreign mass-media published critical materials concerning management of Transniestria. Their general leitmotif deals with our authorities who do not show geopolitical sequence and are not able to fulfill their constitutional duties. As a remedy for this "illness" they offer "colour" revolution at the streets of Tiraspol. Do you have any comments on it?
A: Notorious "colour" revolutions it is not just a phenomenon when new classes and groups sweep away old obsolete ruling elite. First of all it is technology of information resonance which helps to commit a "soft" coup. What does it consist of? Bribery of elite, formation of a network of public organisations, parties and mass-media financed from abroad. Then the formal presence for dissidence is found and all this mechanism starts its work. The bribed officials sabotage the work, corrupted security ministers remain is unable to protect operating elite, activists of opposition parties and non-governmental organisations gather up people at the central squares and government falls. I have noticed, that there is one general feature for all "colour" revolutions - when people see conditioners and computers thrown out of the windows of governmental buildings. These are the main, so called, symbols of power. Then people see limousines in the garages, another symbol of power and wealth. Then people see officials in handcuffs …
Now I'd like to tell about possibility and general expedience of "colour" revolution in Transniestria. I'm assured, that in the unrecognized republic it can result not only the change of regime, but to accidental position of the statehood. Any revolution discredits legitimacy of the new power. It is possible to manage with it if the state is recognized, to spend "fair" elections of the new government; leaders of "colour" revolution can speech from the tribunes of the United Nations, OSCE, European Union and other international structures, motivating their actions. But in case the state is not recognized it will happen the same as in Adzharia where Georgia has made classical colour revolution, broken the corrupted regime of Abashidze and destructed the adzharian statehood. Therefore I refer to the "colour" revolutions in Transniestria with a big alert.
Q: Mr. Soin, to tell the truth, are there any possibilities of development of colour revolution in Transniestria?
A: There are some, unfortunately. Our ideological and propaganda mechanisms are not adapted to withstand the newest political technologies. Look, who is engaged in public relations, who develops information strategy...
For a long time Transniestria did not feel much pressure. But now the people are split, and elite is torn apart from internal contradictions. Everything is worsen because of the economic crisis. Many people leave the country for earnings. The others, labour migrants who have lost work in Russia because of the crisis come back. They come to republic where there is no work, only the growth of social intensity. It is natural, that this mass of people is a kind of a powder barrel. By the way, there are High Schools with the students who rather easily participate in various protest action, because their life is not a good one - scanty studentships and absence of additional earnings. The essential part of the intellectual elite is set against and is quite good for the role of "revolution brains". These are all the components of the "colour" scenario. If one has such components, any external centre of force can play its own game of chess. Want to remind that the officials, who resist it, think according the categories of the last millennium, so we do not have to wait.
Q: Mr. Soin, is it possible the youth of "PRORIV!" to take part in the "colour" revolution?
A: It is practically impossible. It is not because we are afraid to come out to the streets and to tell the word against corruption and arbitrariness of some officials. We have already done it and will do in case. We are really worried with the destiny of the republic and we do not want to risk with it. But we are not going to bare with arbitrariness, injustice, stupidity and incompetence. We just see another way - evolutionary way of changing situation. Soon are the elections and we will see whom will chose the people. "PRORIV!" constantly works with people, first of all with youth, issues the newspaper, supports the Internet projects. In general, we live a high-grade political life. And there is no place for any anticonstitutional actions and plots in our life.
Q: There are some authors in foreign mass-media writing that "colour" revolution is a unique chance to survive. What can you answer them?
A: Any point of view deserves respect. But nevertheless I would advise to these misters not to force the conditions. It is hard in the region as it is. It is a good thing to give advices sitting in the calm offices, far from a conflict zone, where each movement is equal to a step on a minefield. It is much more difficult to take responsibility for it. The thesis that "colour" revolution is necessary for Transniestria provokes split in the elite with all the consequences following from it. If "colour" revolutions gave rather doubtful results, from the point of view of the national wealth, practically in all countries where they passed what have we to wait here in the non-recognized Transniestria? If such revolution will lead to a new war or bloody disorders? Who will be responsible for it? Foreign theorists or we, people of our republic?
I do not doubt that the country needs changes but they should be lawful and evolutionary, instead of being violent and revolutionary.
